Such extreme tenderness and warmth in your words that paint beautiful pictures in my mind. Thank you for who you are and what you freely give to the world.
What a lovely and generous response, Val. I appreciate YOUR words and that you took the time to write. Wishing you gentleness and warmth to hold your heart.
There’s so much of note here. I want to say first that I’m really enjoying your accessible poetic style. It warms with its ease. It wants to sit alongside you gently and truthfully offering beautifully crafted melodies in clever phrases that acknowledge the quiet emotionality that can be grief. Sigh. So good!
Next, I’m curious what your word choice and meaning in the line, “cup of your cobalt thirst”.
Thank you, dear friend, for your own poetic response and reflection. I'm glad my words feel accessible to you and offer gentle warmth. As for that line, sometimes lines just come to me and I include them for their sound and/or musicality. Reading this again, the thirst may refer to the thirst for living that's tangled up in the fear of living that grief can bring...It also could be grief's thirst wanting to be quenched.
Incredibly beautiful and powerful dear friend. Your writing always moves me!
Thank you so much, dear friend. I appreciate you -- and I so hope I get to see you soon! xo
